We are pleased to announce that on 28 April 2025, the Preliminary Form 1 (PF1) for MuJong: A Modular Music Theory Education System Using Tile and Card-Based Gameplay was officially filed with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), under Application No. 10202501095Q.
This filing marks a significant milestone in the development of MuJong, an innovative educational game invented by our CEO, Ms Kiki Boo. MuJong is designed to transform music theory learning into a tactile, strategic, and engaging experience through the use of modular pitch tiles, clef cards, key signature cards, and tempo-driven gameplay.
The invention is now formally recorded with the founder’s trustee, Iconomy Holdings Pte. Ltd. as the applicant and rights holder on trust. The accompanying PF8 and National Security Clearance under Section 33 of the Patents Act have also been duly processed and approved.
What began as a simple bedtime idea from a child has evolved into a structured, pedagogically grounded system backed by intellectual property protection. The entire development journey has been a family-led initiative, from ideation to prototyping, to formal registration.
This patent filing reinforces our commitment to safeguarding MuJong’s unique structure and educational methodology as we move forward toward commercial production and public launch. We will also be pledging part of the proceeds from MuJong sales to Iconomy Foundation Limited’s Gift of Music Project, supporting music education and access for under-resourced communities.
Further updates will follow as we progress to the next phase of production and outreach.
