Mujong Founder Kiki Nominated for MOE Centre-Based Advanced Module
Singapore, 22 October 2026 — Mujong is pleased to share that its young founder, Kiki Boo, has received a nomination from her primary school for the Ministry of Education’s prestigious Centre-Based Advanced Module, organised by the Gifted Education Branch of the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
The nomination places Kiki among approximately 2% of her cohort identified for the centre-based provision under Singapore’s refreshed approach to supporting pupils with higher academic abilities and particular areas of academic strength.
From 2027, the Ministry of Education will progressively replace the existing Gifted Education Programme model with a broader framework for supporting higher-ability learners.
Under the refreshed framework, approximately 10% of each cohort will have access to enhanced school-based learning opportunities, up from about 7% previously. Within this broader group, approximately 2% of the cohort will be identified for the more intensive Centre-Based Advanced Modules, conducted at designated centres across Singapore.
This centre-based provision represents the highest level of academic stretch within the refreshed primary-school framework.
Unlike the traditional Gifted Education Programme, where selected pupils transferred to one of nine designated GEP primary schools, pupils under the refreshed model will remain in their own schools while attending centre-based modules separately.
The Centre-Based Advanced Modules include weekly advanced learning opportunities during term time, with modules in areas such as English, Mathematics and Science, as well as an interdisciplinary module conducted during the school holidays. The programme is intended to extend learning beyond the regular curriculum and provide pupils with opportunities to investigate ideas more deeply, make connections across disciplines and engage with intellectually demanding problems.
For Mujong, Kiki’s nomination carries a special significance.
Mujong itself began from a child’s curiosity.
Created as a new approach to learning through play, Mujong encourages children to recognise patterns, formulate strategies, experiment with possibilities and connect ideas across conventional subject boundaries. Its development has always been guided by the belief that children are capable not merely of absorbing knowledge, but of questioning, discovering, creating and building ideas of their own.
Kiki’s academic journey and her journey as the young founder of Mujong have therefore never been regarded as separate pursuits. Both reflect the same underlying philosophy: that education is at its most powerful when curiosity is given room to wander, disciplines are allowed to intersect and children are trusted with intellectually meaningful challenges.
Her nomination is especially meaningful as the 2026 Primary 3 cohort is among the first to experience MOE’s refreshed approach to identifying and developing higher-ability learners.
Mujong regards the nomination not simply as an academic accolade, but as encouragement for Kiki to continue doing what has driven her journey thus far: remaining curious, asking difficult questions, exploring widely and, above all, enjoying the process of learning.
We are immensely proud of you, Kiki.
The adventure continues.
About Mujong
Mujong is an educational tabletop system built around the philosophy that meaningful learning can emerge through curiosity, play, strategy and interdisciplinary exploration.
Developed from an idea first conceived by its young founder, Kiki Boo, Mujong seeks to create learning experiences in which children do more than search for the correct answer. They observe, reason, experiment, adapt and discover new possibilities.
Mujong believes that the most enduring form of education is not simply learning more, but learning to think more deeply.
The nomination described above is an individual educational achievement of Mujong’s founder and does not constitute or imply any endorsement of Mujong or its products by the Ministry of Education or the Government of Singapore.
